Updated Charges at Cork County Civic Amenity Sites

Following a rise in the cost of waste disposal, Cork County Council has confirmed a revised fee structure at Cork County Civic Amenity Sites from 1st March 2021, in order to continue their effective operation.

Popular Paint Scheme extended to Crosshaven and Ringaskiddy for 2021

Following on from the success of the 2020 Painting and Signage Scheme, Elected Members of the Cork County Council’s Carrigaline Municipal District have allocated a further €20,000 to the Carrigaline Paint Scheme for 2021. At the February meeting of Carrigaline MD, members also agreed to extend the scheme to the settlements of Ringaskiddy and Crosshaven.

10.00AM UPDATE Road and River Conditions across Cork County

Cork County Council’s Severe Weather Assessment Team convened again this morning to assess the impact of significant amounts of rainfall over the past 2 days.  Rain gauges in the catchment upstream of Mallow recorded almost 100mm or 4 inches of rain in the last 24 hours. While levels appear to be receding, the Council remains on alert.

Digital Story Map Marks Centenary of Cúil na Cathrach Ambush

Cork County Council and Transport Infrastructure Ireland have published an online Story Map entitled ‘Ambush at Cúil na Cathrach, West Cork, Ireland: A story of conflict and sacrifice in the Irish War of Independence, 25 February 1921’. The map commemorates the centenary of the Irish War of Independence ambush at Cúil na Cathrach (Coolnacaheragh), close to Baile Mhic Íre in West Cork.
