Five County Cork Communities Nominated for Pride of Place Awards

Cork County Council has confirmed that five community groups will represent County Cork at the 2024 IPB Pride of Place Awards, in association with Co-operation Ireland. Now in its 22nd consecutive year, the competition acknowledges the work undertaken every day by communities all over the island of Ireland.

Cork County Secondary Schools Shine Bright at Film Festival Awards

Secondary schools from all over County Cork gathered at Fota Wildlife Park’s newly established Education, Conservation and Research Centre on 10th April 2024 for the regional ‘Rubbish Film Festival Awards’, an event dedicated to promoting environmental awareness and sustainability through the powerful medium of film.

Cork County Council Launches Plan for Economic and Community Development

The Cork County Local Economic and Community Plan 2024-2030 has been formally adopted by the Elected Members of Cork County Council. The plan provides a framework for how Cork County Council itself, and in partnership with stakeholders, will promote and support the economic and community development of the county over the next 6 years.

2024 County Mayor’s Community Awards

Outstanding contributions made by individuals together with community and voluntary groups from across Cork County were highlighted at the 11th Annual Mayor’s Community Awards in Cork County Hall. The Mayor of the County of Cork, Cllr. Frank O’Flynn, presented a total of 11 awards on the night, with Theresa Hickey from West Cork winning the overall Individual award and The Fermoy International Choir, from North Cork, winning the overall Community Group award.
