A Status Orange Met Eireann Rainfall Warning remains in effect with significant amounts of rainfall being experienced across the county. Up to 65mm of rain has been recorded in some locations over the past 12 hours. Cork County Council’s Crisis Management Team convened twice today and is scheduled to meet again tonight to assess the impact of these conditions.

Cork County Council’s Severe Weather Assessment Team convened this afternoon ahead of a Met Éireann Status Orange Rainfall Warning for Cork.  The Status Orange warning comes into effect at midnight tonight and will remain in place until midnight 00:00am on Sunday morning.

Widespread persistent rain is forecast with some intense downpours expected.

A Met Éireann Status Orange Rain warning for Cork will come into effect on Sunday at 12:00 noon and will remain in effect until 00:00 on Monday morning. Spells of heavy rain may lead to some localised flooding, poor visibility and difficult driving conditions. This will be preceded by a status yellow rain warning which will be in effect on Sunday from 00:00 to 12:00 noon.
