€2.6 million Contract Signed for Initial Phase of Cork to Kinsale Greenway

Cork County Council has announced a significant milestone in the development of the Cork to Kinsale Greenway with the appointment of consultant, Arup, as technical advisors to oversee the initial design phases of the project from Phase 1 Concept and Feasibility to Phase 4 Statutory Process.

Statement from Cork County Council in advance of Storm Ciarán

Storm Ciarán is due to pass close to the south coast of Ireland on Wednesday night, 1st November into Thursday, 2nd November, bringing falls of heavy rain and strong winds with poor visibility leading to difficult and dangerous driving conditions. Met Eireann have issued a weather advisory for the coming days as the unsettled weather continues to have an impact on waterlogged soil and river levels across the county.

Empowering Business Together: Over 200 Women Unite to Celebrate National Women’s Enterprise Day in Cork

More than 200 women came together to celebrate National Women’s Enterprise Day in Dunmore House, Clonakilty. The event, which was hosted by Cork County Council’s Local Enterprise Office Cork North and West, is one of Ireland’s largest celebrations of female entrepreneurship and saw women from various business backgrounds come together for a full day programme with a blend of inspiration, motivation, education, and entertainment.

‘Emotion’ by Ciara Chapman to Open at Cork County Council’s LHQ Gallery

Cork County Council LHQ Gallery will host ‘Emotion’, an exhibition by artist Ciara Chapman, that looks at human emotion, change and growth. The exhibition opens on Thursday, October 26th and will run until November 24th, with an opening event on Saturday, October 28th from 11am to 12.30pm. Entrance to the exhibition and the opening event are free of charge.

Statement from Cork County Council on Flooding

The Met Eireann Orange Rainfall warning, which has just expired, has resulted in a months’ worth of rain falling in just 24 hours. This is on top of already saturated lands and high river levels. It is evidence, if any were needed, of our changing climate and the issues that it presents.
