Cork County Council has announced the opening of the successful To The Letter exhibition by Dolores Lyne in Macroom Town Hall at 3pm on Saturday, August 5th. 

Cork County Council wish to advise that the next section of the N22 Baile Bhuirne Macroom Road Scheme is due to open on Friday August 11th.  This is an 8km section of Type 2 Dual Carriageway between Carrigaphooca to the west of Macroom and Tonn Láin to the east of Baile Mhic Íre.  

The Mayor of County Cork, Cllr. Frank O’Flynn has launched a new guide map offering an introduction to the archaeology of East and North Cork.

Cork County Council has recognised the ongoing work of community and voluntary groups in villages across the county in the fight against litter. As part of the Council’s Anti-Litter Challenge 2023, twenty-one villages have been presented with certificates for their remarkable success in managing litter in their localities. 

Cork County Council advertised a proposed temporary road closure of the R579 southern approach to the Ballymaquirke Junction to facilitate completion of the necessary Ballymaquirke junction improvement scheme on June 29th, 2023.

The Mayor of the County of Cork, Cllr Frank O’Flynn has announced the launch of a grant scheme aimed at providing financial support to groups and organisations involved in Irish language projects.

Event held today at Mallow Wastewater Treatment Plant to mark completion of projects.

Cork County Council joins artist James L Hayes in inviting the public to experience his latest exhibition ‘The Score’, a captivating exploration of the traditional Irish sport of road bowling. This unique contemporary art showcase, presented in collaboration with members and players from Ból Chumann na hÉireann, The Irish Road Bowling Association, will open its doors to the public at 7pm on Saturday, July 8th in Macroom Town Hall.

To coincide with Cork Pride, Cork County Council Library and Arts Service has announced a three-person exhibition by artists Conor O’Brien, Oskar Szewczuk and Samir Mahmood, each representing the marginalised non heteronormative body in their work. 

Cork County Council has today announced a  sponsorship program in association with the  Irish Hotels Federation, which will see hospitality students from the US avail of a 12 month Working Holiday Authorisation to participate in practical training in a number of Cork hotels.

Cork County Council has appointed contractor Priority Construction Ltd. to install a new foul and storm sewer at Graball bay including watermains upgrade as part of a €1.35million Graball bay roads and services upgrade contract.
