Affordable Housing Survey | Suirbhé ar Thithíocht Inacmhainne

Cork County Council is requesting prospective affordable housing applicants to complete a short survey with the collated results informing the delivery of future schemes and eligibility requirements. First time buyers and other applicants who feel they may be eligible to buy or rent an affordable home are invited to complete the survey.

A Record 26 Flags Awarded Cork County Beaches

Cork County beaches have been awarded a total of 26 flags by An Taisce at the National Awards for 2022. In all, 11 Blue Flags and 15 Green Coast Flags were won, for beaches that achieve consistently excellent water quality as well as meeting beach infrastructure standards.

There’s Drama in the Air for Creative Elders

Cork County Council are inviting people from County Cork over the age of 55 to join writer Katie Holly to create a radio drama as part of a Creativity in Older Age project. Katie will support participants in producing the radio drama via workshops in County Library Headquarters on Carrigrohane Road every 2-3 weeks on Fridays from 2 to 4pm. Participants will develop, write and produce a series of episodes for radio while developing new skills and meeting likeminded people who share a love of storytelling. No previous writing experience is necessary.

Volunteers who assisted during Covid Pandemic honoured at special recognition event

Volunteers who selflessly gave their time to help others during the Covid-19 pandemic have been recognised by the Mayor of the County of Cork Cllr Gillian Coughlan, Manager of the Cork Volunteer Centre Adam Lacy and Chief Executive of Cork County Council Tim Lucey with more than 120 guests in attendance at a very special event to coincide with National Volunteer Week 2022.
