Road Works Speed Limit Order - Celtic Interconnector Project

Section 10 of the Road Traffic Act 2004, as amended by Section 55 of the Road Traffic and Roads Act 2023.

Notice is hereby given, pursuant to Section 10 (1) of the Road Traffic Act 2004, as amended, BY Section 55 of the Roads Traffic & Roads Act 2023, that a Road Works Speed Limit Order has been made in the interests of road safety and to facilitate the installation of ducting and joint bay chambers associated with the Celtic Interconnector Project.

Location:

Install a 60 km/h Special Speed Limit at Road Works on the N25, a reduction of the existing 100km/h speed limit, for approx. 4km, from the start point of the existing speed limit signs to the eastern side of Castlemartyr and extend to the speed limit sign on the western side of Killeagh between the co-ordinates 197129, 73687 and 200174, 75862.

Existing Speed Limits through the villages of Castlemartyr and Killeagh will remain unaffected.

The Road Works Speed Limit to be applied shall be 60km/h (reduced from 100 km/h).

This speed limit applies from midnight on Monday 21st October, 2024 to midnight on Friday 20th December, 2024 or such earlier date as determined by Cork County Council.

Relevant speed limit signs will be in place.
