Temporary Closing of Public Roads

TEMPORARY CLOSING OF PUBLIC ROADS
Pursuant to Section 75 of the Roads Act 1993, & Article 12 of the Roads Regulations 1994, notice is hereby given that Cork County Council proposes to temporarily close the following road for the period and reason specified below:
Road Subject of Proposed Closure
R579-489 Ballycunningham, Donoughmore, Co. Cork.
Period of Proposed Closure
From 07:00hrs to 20:00hrs (Daily Closure) from Thursday 25th July 2024 to Friday 2nd August 2024.
Reason for Proposed Closure
To facilitate Road Improvement works.
Alternative Routes
Traffic travelling along the R579 towards Blarney/Cork City should turn right at the junction with the R619 and follow the R619 to Coachford. At the junction in Coachford Village traffic should turn left onto the R618 and follow the road east until the junction with the R622 in Inniscarra. Then turn left onto the R622 and follow the road until the junction with the R579. At the junction turn right onto the R579 and continue towards Blarney/Cork City.
The stated diversion route is applicable in reverse when travelling in the opposite direction.
Local access will be maintained throughout the duration of the Road Closure.

Objections to this proposed temporary road closure should be made in writing, to the undersigned, quoting Ref: TRC-66-2024, not later than 5.00pm on Tuesday 18th June 2024. Telephone contact details should be included in the objection.

L-3402-17 Eochras, Béal Átha an Ghaorthaidh, Co. Cork.
Period of Proposed Closure
From 07:00hrs to 20:00hrs (Daily Closure) from Monday 29th July 2024 to Monday 5th August 2024.
Reason for Proposed Closure
To facilitate Road Resurfacing.
Alternative Routes
Southbound Traffic: At Ré na Doirí follow the L-3402 east to the R618. Follow the R-618 to Hartnetts Cross and junction for the R-584. Follow the R-584 through Toons Bridge, Inchigeelagh and onto Béal Átha an Ghaorthaidh. Also traffic travelling from Baile Mhic Íri to remain on R-618 and continue east Hartnetts Cross.
Northbound Traffic: At Béal Átha an Ghaorthaidh remain on the R-584 and travel towards Inchigeelagh, Toons Bridge and Hartnetts Cross. Follow the R618 west to
Lios an Chraosaigh. Follow the L-3402 west to Ré na Doirí.
Local access will be maintained throughout the duration of the Road Closure.
This closure will take place in sequence with TRC-68-2024 – “R-584-7 Toons Bridge” but both roads will not be closed at the same time.

Road Subject of Proposed Closure
L-6069-0 and L-2041-0, Watergate Street/Knockbrogan, Bandon, Co. Cork.
L-6069-0(Part) – for 70 metres north-east of the Summerhill Close junction.
L-2041-0(Part) – for 80 metres south-west of the Summerhill Close Junction.
Period of Proposed Closure
From 08:00hrs on Monday 29th of July 2024 to 18:00hrs on Friday 23rd of August 2024. (24hr Closure).
Reason for Proposed Closure
To facilitate wastewater connection.
Alternative Routes
Traffic intending to travel from Watergate Street to Kilbeg shall divert west along Watergate Street, then turn right onto North Main Street (R586-0), then turn right onto Kilbrogan Hill (R589-0), continue onto the R589-18 and R589-43, at Kilpatrick turn right onto L-6068-0 while travelling north-eastwards, turn right onto L-6069-23 at Woodlands Cross, continue onto L-6069-0 towards Kilbeg and Knockbrogan to approach the closed road from the opposite side.
The stated diversion route is applicable in reverse when travelling in the opposite direction.
Local access to Summerhill Close will be maintained throughout the duration of the Road Closure from one side.
