Draft Recreation and Amenity Policy
Cork County Council has prepared a Draft Recreation and Amenity Policy. This document has been prepared following a review of the 2006 Cork County Council Recreation and Amenity Policy. It has been drafted to take into account the latest Cork County Development Plan 2022-2028 as well as other relevant national policy, guidelines and best practice which have been published since the 2006 policy.
The Draft Recreation and Amenity Policy including Environmental Reports (SEA Screening Report and Appropriate Assessment Screening Report) are available to view in the 'Document Summary' section below.
The Draft Recreation and Amenity Policy may also be inspected by the public, each working day from 7th June to 28th June, 2024 inclusive between the hours of 9.30am and 4.00pm at the following locations
- Planning Department, Floor 1 County Hall, Cork.
- Planning Department, Norton House, Cork Rd., Skibbereen.
- Cork County Council Divisional Office at Annabella, Mallow.
- County Library and Branch Libraries – Please check your local library regarding opening times and availability of PCs for accessing electronic format
Submissions
Invitation to make submissions:
Submissions or observations regarding the Draft Recreation and Amenity Policy are hereby invited from members of the public, children, or groups or associations representing the interests of children and other interested parties during the period 7th June to 28th June, 2024 inclusive.
Submissions may be made in either of the following two ways:
- By clicking the 'Make a Submission' button below and following the instructions provided. (Please resize large attachments to avoid any technical issues).
OR
- In written form to the Senior Planner, Planning Policy Unit, Cork County Council, Floor 13, County Hall, Cork. All hard copy submissions should be clearly headed with “Submission to the Draft Recreation and Amenity Policy”.
All submissions received by midnight on Friday 28th June, 2024 will be taken into consideration prior to the adoption of any Recreation and Amenity Policy.

Cork County Council cannot accept email submissions.
Please make your submission by one medium only i.e. via the website or in hard copy. This will avoid the duplication of submission reference numbers and will streamline the process.
Where possible, please include your name and address on a separate page to the content of your submission in order to assist Cork County Council in complying with the provisions of the Data Protection Act. Your assistance on these issues is appreciated.

Please note that all written submissions received by the Council shall, be published on the Cork County Council website following receipt by the Council. Cork County Council is subject to the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act, 2014 and to the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) and Data Protection Act 2018.
Please be aware that in order to process these submissions that contain certain GDPR Special Categories of data/Sensitive Personal Data as defined by Article 9 of the GDPR explicit consent to the processing of the special categories of data must be provided by the person to whom the data refers.
Personal information collected by the Council is done so for us to process your submission/observation. Legally we can process this information in the exercise of official authority vested in the Council.
