Upgraded Playground Officially Opened in Macroom

The Mayor of the County of Cork, Cllr. Gillian Coughlan has officially opened the newly refurbished Macroom Playground after the 25-year-old facility underwent a significant makeover.

Funding Available for Community Groups in County Cork

Cork County Council is encouraging community & voluntary groups affected by the pandemic to apply for support to help keep their facilities open. A total of €312,000 is available to share between clubs and groups in County Cork under the Community Activities Fund for 2022.

OLDER PEOPLE’S COUNCIL LAUNCHES DRIVE FOR MEMBERS IN COUNTY CORK

New members are being encouraged to join the Cork County Older People’s Council which provides a way for older adults to take a more active role in their communities and have their voices heard. The Council is free to join and is open to all County Cork residents, aged 50 years upwards.

Plans for Béal na mBláth unveiled to mark centenary of the death of Michael Collins

Mayor of the County of Cork, Cllr Gillian Coughlan, is delighted to announce that a significant project for Béal na mBláth will be completed in advance of the national event to commemorate the centenary of the death of Michael Collins in August 2022.  The project is supported by the Department of the Taoiseach, Department of Defence and Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media as part of the centenary programme of commemorations.

Tá glaoigh amach eisithe ag Comhairle Contae Chorcaí do dhrámadóirí agus d'amharclannóirí ar spéis leo dráma nua a chruthú trí Ghaeilge don lucht féachana óg. Tá sé mar aidhm ealaíontóir a choimisiúnú le dráma Gaeilge a dhéanamh a bheidh inrochtana agus siamsúil do pháistí suas go 12 bliana d’aois. Déanfar é a thaibhiú i leabharlanna áitiúla agus in áiteanna eile ar fud an chontae.

Views Sought on Cork County Development Plan

The Mayor of the County of Cork, Cllr Gillian Coughlan is encouraging individuals and groups to have their say on the future development of the county with the publication of the Proposed Amendments to the Draft County Development Plan. This is the last opportunity for the people of County Cork to make submissions on the plan which comes into effect in June.
