This year’s theme invites you to explore the traditions and practices, knowledge and skills passed down through generations.  National Heritage Week 2023 in County Cork will see over 130 events right throughout the county, surpassing the number of events held in the county during 2022.

Road, Water And Fire Safety Highlighted As Part Of ‘Amber Thursday’

Cork County Council is appealing to people to stay safe this August Bank Holiday weekend on Amber Thursday 2023. Amber Thursday is a collaboration between safety bodies and local authorities to help promote road, water and fire safety over the busy bank holiday weekend. The colour amber was chosen as it signifies a hazard or a warning.

Cork County Council Recognises Community Effort in the Fight Against Litter 

Cork County Council has recognised the ongoing work of community and voluntary groups in villages across the county in the fight against litter. As part of the Council’s Anti-Litter Challenge 2023, twenty-one villages have been presented with certificates for their remarkable success in managing litter in their localities.

Irish Road Bowling Art Exhibit to Open at Macroom Town Hall

Cork County Council joins artist James L Hayes in inviting the public to experience his latest exhibition ‘The Score’, a captivating exploration of the traditional Irish sport of road bowling. This unique contemporary art showcase, presented in collaboration with members and players from Ból Chumann na hÉireann, The Irish Road Bowling Association, will open its doors to the public at 7pm on Saturday, July 8th in Macroom Town Hall.
