Cork County Council Centre Culturel Irlandais Residency
Cork County Council is supporting a 1-month residency at the Centre Culturel Irlandais, Paris between September 2024 and August 2025 for an artist of any discipline who is based in the county of Cork.
Who can apply:
Applicants must be resident in the Cork County functional area, with professional involvement in creative practice.
How to apply:
Applications can only be made through the Centre Culturel Irlandais website during the official application period which will be between Thursday 14 November 2024 to Tuesday 14 January 2025, 5pm GMT.

Applications by post or e-mail cannot be accepted.
A clear indication of the focus of the residency will be required together with a record of professional achievement: details of publications, exhibitions, performances, compositions, prizes, awards and related aspects of practice, as well as experience of other residencies. Visual artists must have had at least one solo exhibition and writers one published work.
Any familiarity with French culture and language should be indicated.
When to apply:
The call for applications is between 16th November 2023 to 16th January 2024.
Residency period:
The award applies to the Centre’s next programme of residencies for the period from September 2024 until August 2025.
Assessment of applications
Assessment of the Cork County Council/Centre Culturel Irlandais bursary will be made by a panel comprising representatives of both organisations. A recommendation for the award will be approved by the elected members of Cork County Council.
Award of Residency
Applicants will be notified of the outcome at the end of March.
General Terms and Conditions:
- The residency is open to practitioners in all art forms, within the limits of the facilities available in the Centre.
- The bursary covers travel and accommodation in the Centre Culturel Irlandais. The artist is expected to spend the period agreed in the Centre.
- The resident artist will receive a stipend of €750.
- Travel will be organised by the Centre Culturel Irlandais.
- The artist in residence will be asked to participate in the cultural programme of the Centre Culturel Irlandais.
- The selected artist must acknowledge the support of Cork County Council.
- The selected artist must provide a short evaluation and documentation of his /her work programme at the Centre to Cork County Council.
