Cork County Council Unveils Record Budget of €516 Million

Cork County Council has approved a Budget for 2025 which amounts to €516 million.

This budget supports expanded frontline services such as housing and roads with a strong focus on Cork County’s towns and villages through increased investment in library operations, street cleaning and maintenance of open spaces as well as supporting the business community.

The budget also provides for investment in economic and community services and infrastructure throughout 2025 and subsequent years. It provides for an increase in the Annual Rate on Valuation (ARV) for commercial rates of 2% whilst also making provision for a 3.5% rates incentive scheme that will benefit all rate payers.  

Mayor of the County of Cork, Cllr Joe Carroll said,

This budget has a strong emphasis on communities and the resourcing of our towns and villages. Cork County Council is committed to delivering the services needed to enhance our urban and rural communities which is reflected throughout this record budget.

The budget for 2025 is progressive and future focused. It aims to meet our statutory obligations, meet the Council’s objectives, enhance service delivery, support businesses and ensure that our towns and villages benefit from investment.
