Weather Warning update for Cork County Council

Cork County Council’s Severe Weather Assessment Team continued to meet throughout the day today (Saturday) and council crews are monitoring the flood warning systems in Mallow and Fermoy. Flood barricades have been erected as required. Crews will also be monitoring the situation in Midleton, Rathgormack and Mogeely.

Cork County Council Status Orange Snow and Rain Warning Update

Cork County Council’s full fleet has been deployed to carry out pre-emptive gritting on Priority 1 and Priority 2 routes and will be extended to treat Priority 3 routes as resources allow. Motorists are being urged to avoid unnecessary journeys and drive with extreme care even on roads that have been gritted. If a journey must be undertaken, please slow down, allow extra time and be aware of other roads users, especially vulnerable road users such as pedestrians and cyclists.

Cork County Council Update on Status Yellow Snow/Ice Warning

Cork County Council is urging motorists to take extreme care on the roads as widespread frost and ice is forecast for the county. 

A Met Éireann Status Yellow Low Temperature/Ice warning remains in place until 10.00 on Wednesday morning (20th of November) and will be in force again from 8.00pm on Wednesday evening. In addition, a Status Yellow Snow/Ice Warning has been issued for Cork from 4.00am on Thursday morning until 12 midday on Thursday.
