Funding Available to Protect Heritage Buildings in County Cork

Cork County Council is encouraging the owners and custodians of historic and protected structures in County Cork to apply for funding to repair and preserve their properties. The Built Heritage Investment Scheme (BHIS) for 2025 has been announced by Minister of State for Nature, Heritage and Electoral Reform, Malcolm Noonan TD.

Tender Published for M28 Motorway linking Rochestown with Ringaskiddy

Cork County Council has published the tender for the motorway section of the M28 Cork to Ringaskiddy Project. The scheme, which forms part of the Core Trans‐European Transport Network will enable the strategic development of the Port of Cork’s facilities in Ringaskiddy whilst also supporting the economic development in the local area and nationally.

Proposal to make the County of Cork Road Traffic Special Speed Limits (Regional & Local Roads) Bye-laws (No. 2) 2024

The commencement of the Road Traffic Act 2024 will result in changes to default speed limits on certain categories of Irish roads, commencing with the upcoming change to speed limits on Local Rural Roads, whereby a default speed limit of 60 km per hour will apply to Local Roads nationally, other than local roads in built-up areas and local roads where a  special speed limit or a road works speed limit has been applied to that road or part thereof.
