The Environment Directorate monitors, analyses and reports on air, water, wastewater and waste management services in County Cork, in accordance with EU and national legislation. It also provides information on environmental matters to the public and to other County Council directorates.

Our mission is to promote and protect a high-quality natural environment, protect human health, secure the integration of environmental considerations into economic and sectoral policies and to promote best practice in the use of environmentally sustainable energy.
