Small Business Assistance Scheme for Covid announced for County Cork Businesses

Cork County Council is calling on relevant businesses operating from commercially rated premises to avail of the Small Business Assistance Scheme for Covid (SBASC) fund which can assist with fixed costs following the ongoing impact of Covid-19 restrictions. This fund, launched by the Department of Enterprise, Trade & Employment, will supplement the €34 million awarded to County Cork businesses and administered by the Council under the Business Restart Grant Scheme.
Glanseair Children’s Formula has been developed to facilitate the growth and nutrition of Chinese children aged 4 to 12 and is produced by Kerry Group in their state-of-the-art facilities in Charleville, Co. Cork.

A positive news story for Irish exports at the beginning of this month with the official launch of Glanseair Children’s Formula for the Chinese market.  Glanseair Children’s Formula has been developed to facilitate the growth and nutrition of Chinese children aged 4 to 12 and is produced by Kerry Group in their state-of-the-art facilities in Charleville, Co. Cork.

Poems from My 5K

Cork County Council Library and Arts Service is pleased to announce a new poetry initiative that aims to encourage people to imaginatively respond through poetry to the new perspectives  and understanding of place, nature and environment that the limitations on travel outside of the 5k limit have created in the last year. This boundary has meant that many of us are experiencing our locality in new and surprising ways, as we rediscover the world on our doorstep. “Poems from My 5k” provides an opportunity to reflect on this new reality through poetry.

County Cork set to mark St. Patrick's Day

While there may be no physical parades taking place across Cork County this St Patricks Day, Cork County Council have announced details of a number of virtual St Patrick’s Day activities, including include the greening of many public buildings along with a range of local events marking our National Day, many of which are supported by the Local Authority through the eight Municipal Districts across County Cork.
Midleton’s Pontoon Walkway, which forms part of Cork County Council’s plans for the development of a pedestrian and cycle route from Ballinacurra to Midleton.

€15 million Allocated to Cork County for Sustainable Travel Projects

The National Transport Authority (NTA) has announced funding of €240 million to Local Authorities for sustainable travel projects, of which Cork County Council has received an allocation of €15.8 million.  On-going projects within the Cork County Metropolitan Area are set to receive €7.5 million, up from €2.04 in 2020, with an additional €8.3 million invested in walking and cycling infrastructure across county towns and villages.
