Notice is hereby given, pursuant to the provisions of Part XI of the Planning & Development Act, 2000 (as amended) and in accordance with the requirements of Part 8, Article 81 and Article 83 of the Planning & Development Regulations, 2001 (as amended) that Cork County Council proposes to undertake the following development:

Project Title

Proposed Development of a New Public Car Park, Doneraile, Co. Cork.

Location

The project is located on Main Street Doneraile, Co. Cork.

Nature and Extent of Development

The proposed development comprises of the following:

  • Demolition of existing abattoir and other existing ancillary buildings located on site
  • Development of a new hardscaped public car park with 25 spaces including 2 disabled spaces
  • Installation of a new soakaway at the rear of the site to deal with any surface water run-off
  • Demolition of the front entrance wall including the existing mural
  • Erection of a new 1m high entrance wall and new entrance gates
  • The modification of the existing vehicular entrance/exit including sight lines at entrance/exit
  • Lowering of the existing public footpath to facilitate the modified vehicular entrance/exit
  • Provision of new bollards on the existing public footpath
  • Associated groundworks including drainage, stormwater connections, watermain connections and electrical ducting
  • Provision of Public Lighting
  • Provision for recycling bins to be located in the new car park.

Fermoy Municipal District Office, Cork County Council, Town Hall, Fermoy, Co. Cork. between the hours of 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. on each working day. See Point 1.

  3. On receipt of a written request the Council will post or email a copy of the plans and particulars to a member of the public who wishes to make a written submission within the statutory timeframe (indicated below).
  4. The request should be headed: ‘Part VIII Doneraile Public Car Park’ and addressed to the Fermoy Municipal Districts, Courthouse Road, Fermoy, Co. Cork. P61AW63 stating whether you wish to have the plans etc. sent in hard copy form or by email.

Plans and particulars of the proposed development will be available for inspection and/or purchase at the locations outlined above (see Point No. 1 above) on each day during which the said offices are open for the transaction of business (excluding Bank Holidays) for a period of 4 weeks from 06th June 2024 and ending on 04th July 2024.

Submissions or Observations

A submission or observation in relation to the proposed development, may be made by using the online submission by clicking the 'Make a Submission' button below or, in writing, to;

Fermoy Municipal Districts, Courthouse Road, Fermoy, Co. Cork. P61AW63 before 4.00pm on 18/07/2024.

As per Article 81 of the Planning and Development Regulations 2001 (as amended), an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) screening determination has been made and a determination has been made that an EIA is not required. In accordance with Article 120 (3), as amended by S.I. No. 296 of 2018, a person may, within 4 weeks from the date of this notice (06th June 2024), apply to An Bord Pleanala for a screening determination as to whether the development would be likely to have significant effects on the environment. Such a submission should be addressed to the Secretary, An Bord Pleanála, 64, Marlborough Street, Dublin, 1.
