The ‘Together at the Lodge’ mental health and wellbeing event at Midleton Lodge Park that was due to take place this weekend has been postponed until Sunday, the 6th of October 2024, due to the adverse weather forecast. 

Mayor of the County of Cork, Cllr. Joe Carroll has announced the winners of the 2024 Age Friendly Housing Design Competition, a collaboration between Cork County Council’s Architects Department, Planning Department and Cork County Age Friendly Programme.

On Friday 20th September, communities around Cork County came together and enjoyed 160 events happening in their areas for Culture Night 2024. The annual event was an overwhelming success, with local programmes drawing thousands of attendees from across the region. 

Volunteers attired in high viz jackets and gloves, armed with litter pickers and bags, often active in early morning and late evening, are a regular sight on our roadsides and streets these days. 

A new affordable housing development in Carrigtwohill will open for applications in two weeks’ time. Cork County Council is inviting prospective homeowners to apply for the new three bed houses at Baile Adaim, which are being offered at a discounted rate, from 12 noon on Monday the 7th of October 2024.

The Mayor of the County of Cork, Cllr Joe Carroll together with Minister of State, Colm Burke TD and Chief Executive of Cork County Council, Moira Murrell have cut the ribbon for the official opening of The Briery Gap Theatre and Library.

Cork County Council will be opening Books of Condolence in memory of former Fine Gael Councillor Tadgh O’Donovan Trá at Cork County Hall and Skibbereen Library.
